Bird feed stores are incredibly popular this year.

One type of retail business that is doing well through out these months of pandemic is retail specializing in bird seed for wild birds. People have rediscovered nature in their backyards and are buying bird feed supply’s. Even during times when stores were forced to be closed to the public, most bird feed suppliers saw an increase in curb side and delivery sales.

This summer I have been spending a lot of time calling these store hoping to make sales and have had numerous conversations with owners about how their business is doing. However, I cannot always interest them in earrings since their customers are not necessarily spending a lot of time in the stores shopping for gifts. But we are getting Some good orders from these stores when so many of the gift shops we work with at nature centers and refuges are closed. So we are really thankful for these highly practical nature stores and that they are here for people to turn to when they are looking for nature So close tp their homes.

If you are interested in a fascinating hobby that encourages transforming your yard into a wildlife sanctuary, I am sure you can find a bird and nature store near by. Most are happy to assist you with birding away from home providing bird guides, optics and local knowledge of hot spots as well. Here in central PA we have Wiscoy for Animals in State College and not far in Lewistown is Honeycreek Bird and Beak. Some other locations around the country that just recently purchased from us are: the Bird House in Rochester, NY, Jake’s Bird Barn with several locations in AZ, the Front Range Birding Co. in Boulder CO, Wild About Birds in Layton UT. The Wild Birds Unlimited stores, with their franchises all across the US and Canada is a big focus of our pandemic marketing campaign and since the beginning of May almost twenty have placed orders with us including Grosse Point MI, Winchester, ArlingtonTX, Burleson TX, Rochester Hills MI, Springfield MO, Waco TX, Woodstock GA, Augusta GA, Cincinnati OH, Winter Springs FL, Glastonbury CT, Florence SC, Beaufort SC, Frankfort KY, Green Bay WI, Saskatoon ON.

If you have a favorite bird store you think we should market to or if you just want to tell us about them please do!
